Warranty SOMFY
SOMFY products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and certification requirements (having received more than 600 approvals in over 40 countries).
The SOMFY warranty certifies the product reliability of the motors/automations and seals the correct quality approach of the company in its sector. So SOMFY warrants that its products are free from defects in materials used and assembly work, provided they have been used under normal conditions and in accordance with the prescribed use and maintenance of the products and for a limited period of time, which starts from delivery date of the product to the buyer. The warranty period varies by product and applies as follows:
STANDARD Warranty
STANDARD 5 year warranty for SOMFY brand solutions (motors, accessories, automations, detectors, sensors, remote controls, switches and connected solutions) for roller shutters and opening shutters, external/internal blinds, pergolas, curtains, garage doors, gates and security (alarm systems and cameras).
EXTENDED Warranty
EXTENDED 7 years warranty for specific SOMFY brand products:
- S&SO RS 100 motors for domestic roller shutters.
- RS100 Solar IO, Oximo WireFree RTS, Oximo Solar IO motor solutions as long as they operate exclusively with SOMFY panel and battery.
- Sunea 40 Solar IO, Sunea 40 DC RTS solutions for vertical blinds and domestic roller shutter applications, as long as they operate exclusively with SOMFY panel and battery.
LIMITED Warranty
LIMITED 3 year warranty for SOMFY batteries of motors for shutters, gates and garage doors.
Warranty Extension
It may be possible for the purchaser of a Rolloplast end product incorporating a SOMFY product to obtain a warranty extension for a total of up to 10 years by purchasing the warranty extension at the time of purchase of the end product.
Terms of Use
The warranty applies to all SOMFY products that have a defect due to the material used for the manufacture or to incorrect assembly in the manufacturing plant. In this case, SOMFY, after carrying out an inspection of the products in the Service, must, according to the results, repair if possible or replace the defective product. In the event of the removal of a type of motor or automation and if this is within the warranty period, SOMFY may replace it with a corresponding or equal value product. For products that are part of a final product (e.g. awning motor), the SOMFY warranty only concerns its own product (motor) and not the final product (awning).
The removal and return of defective SOMFY products for warranty inspection by SOMFY will be done through its network of commercial partners. The SOMFY partner network must send the defective products for inspection to the SOMFY facilities. It is recommended that the end customer address the warranty coverage request to the SOMFY point of sale/partner from whom the product was purchased.
The responsibility and liability of SOMFY is limited exclusively to the repair or replacement, at its option, of the defective product, and assumes no responsibility for the restoration or compensation of any damage, loss or injury, direct or indirect, that may have been caused during the installation, use, inability to use, uninstallation or reinstallation of the SOMFY product.
Defective products that are replaced in accordance with the terms of the warranty will be retained and will subsequently become property of SOMFY HELLAS.
SOMFY does not guarantee the suitability of its products for a specific, special or intended use by the buyer, other than that intended and prescribed by SOMFY. The purchaser is solely responsible for determining the suitability of SOMFY products for their intended use and bears the risk and liability of the selection of products and their suitability in each case. In case of doubt, the buyer must consult SOMFY.
If the buyer resells a SOMFY product that is subject to a warranty, he has the right to include in the sale the terms and benefits of this warranty.
Exceptions
The SOMFY warranty does not apply in the following cases:
- If the defect is a consequence of force majeure, natural phenomenon (e.g. storm, lightning, etc.).
- If SOMFY products have been opened-disassembled without prior written permission from SOMFY.
- If the installation or use of SOMFY products does not coincide with SOMFY’s written specifications, as well as the installation and operating instructions. In case the buyer wishes to install or operate the SOMFY product differently, he should first contact SOMFY.
- If SOMFY products are used in combination with automations or accessories that do not belong to the SOMFY range (switches, batteries, bases, crowns, etc.), unless it is proven that the defect is not related to these third-party products and that all specifications and instructions have been complied with.
Restrictions
Any SOMFY product repaired while it is within the warranty period, continues to be covered by the original warranty as long as it is valid for the remaining period of the original warranty period. In the event of replacement of the product or its spare part/component, the warranty is automatically renewed for its entire duration with respect to the new product or spare part.
Exclusive Responsibility
In addition to the obligations of SOMFY referred to in these general warranty conditions, as well as in the special warranty conditions accompanying SOMFY products, SOMFY does not provide any other warranty and does not assume any liability, arising from law, contract or any other cause regarding SOMFY products, subject only to cases where it is mandatory imposed by mandatory provisions of Greek legislation. Thus, any liability is excluded for any direct or indirect, positive or negative loss, damage or cost suffered by the buyer, a third party or the buyer’s property, based on a legal or real defect or on the inconsistency with the agreed properties or characteristics of the products or on any other point not expressly mentioned herein.
The buyer, upon purchasing and receiving SOMFY products, expressly declares that he has taken note of, understood and accepts the terms hereof and expressly and unconditionally waives any relevant right of claim or legal remedy against SOMFY, except for those indicated by the general terms and conditions of this guarantee, as well as by the mandatory provisions of law.
This warranty is governed by the laws and regulations applicable in Greece and the EU.
