SOMFY RS100 SOLAR IO tubular motors for Ø60 or Ø70 shaft, are solar powered so they are ideal for residential roller shutters where mains connection is difficult or impossible. Their use is possible almost everywhere, even in places with weak sunlight thanks to their very powerful battery (22000 mAh) that offers reliable operation even in cloudy or northern conditions with an autonomy of up to 45 days, with 2 cycles of use ( up and down) daily. They are wireless, quiet with soft start and stop, flexible thanks to adjustable speeds and safe with push-up protection. They have electronically adjustable limits (no screw regulators or buttons) so that the installer does not need access to the motor head at all and they self-test every month (self-learning mode). In addition, they constantly check the torque, immediately perceive any sudden change and automatically stop their operation to protect both themselves and the roll or awning fabric from obstacles and frost.

Wireless Operation

The built-in IO receiver, io-homecontrol® technology at 868.95 MHz, allows remote control of the motor and feedback on its operation. You can control them all from a remote control or your mobile phone or by voice by adding a digital voice assistant (Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit). It has a large memory, rolling code of 16 million possibilities, and stores up to 9 different remote controls. Thanks to the sun sensor built into the solar panel, your blinds magically open and close depending on the weather and sunlight. On hot summer days, the blinds close automatically keeping your living space pleasantly cool, while in winter they open to allow sunlight to be used to heat the interior spaces.

Technical Specifications

The 14-cell (16.8V NiMH) battery and 5.8W solar panel provide DC-RGE7-12V power to SOMFY’s RS100 SOLAR IO wireless tubular motors via a 2.2m white H05 RNF 2×0.75mm² cable and can work with safety in voltage variation of 11.9-21V and temperature from -20°C to +70°C. Additionally, with an IP44 rating (IP54 for the solar panel) they are fully protected and completely safe for outdoor use.
